In Year 6, we have a child-centered approach that maintains the established principles of effective learning with exciting, engaging lessons where children are encouraged to explore, discuss, question, reflect and report in both individual and collaborative learning contexts across a range of subject areas. Different learning styles are catered for and an individualised approach supported by high expectations, ensures all children are working to their full potential in all aspects of their development.
The children will be role models for the rest of the school, helping the younger children with their learning; we have Reading Rangers, Multiplication Masters and the Fred Frog Squad who help with out with Phonics. Our Upper School children model resilience and resourcefulness at all times. Our children will leave Year 6 secondary ready and as ambassadors of Anfield Road Primary School, reflecting on their time here as a very positive experience.
As part of our exciting curriculum, we strive to offer real life experiences, which are now a fundamental part of our curriculum. Your child will have a school visit relative to their learning every half term. Click on each Learning Challenge question to have a look at the exciting photostory which showcases the learning that took place throughout the topic.
