British Science Week 2021

Friday 12th March- Year 2 Whizz Kids loved finding out how their lungs worked. The made balloon lungs and used a virtual reality t-shirt to look inside their bodies to see all the different organs. 🫁 



Thursday 11th March- Year 6 enjoyed their live DNA lesson so much that they created posters for their working wall. 🧬 



Thursday 11th March- The nursery children have loved learning about healthy food and trying lots of new tasty fruit when they made their fruit kebabs. πŸ‰πŸŒπŸŽπŸ


Thursday 11th March- Year 6 carried out a butterfly adaption investigation. They used stop watches to time their original butterflies then added things to them to test the flight times again. πŸ¦‹ 



Thursday 11th March- Year 6 completed a ‘Bird Beak Investigation’ to find out which beak would survive on which Galapagos Island. πŸ¦… 



Wednesday 10th March- Year 6 had an amazing live lesson with author of the book series, ‘DNA Detectives’, Dr Mandy Hartley. 🧬 



Tuesday 9th March- Today we used our Virtual- Tee to explore our body’s important organs such as the heart. We even used it to take a tour of our veins and arteries. We then created an information booklet to share the facts that we had learnt. 🫁 



Tuesday 9th March- Today Year 1 learnt about healthy and unhealthy foods and got to try lots of different fruits. πŸŒπŸŽπŸ‰πŸ





Monday 8th March- Baby Bugs have been exploring mixing and watching what happened as they mixed milk, food colouring and fairy liquid. They described it as watching the ‘colours dance’.
