Over the last few years we have worked in collaboration with the SIL Food Advisory team to ensure that our children are taught skills which enable them to cook recipes whilst also applying principles of nutrition and health eating. Cross curricular links have ensured that all our lessons are taught with curriculum intent, implementation and impact.
Each year group from Nursery to Year 6 has benefitted from these lessons and they have been very successful across the school. The children’s food technology skills have improved because of the progression of skills planned throughout each year group and the children really look forward to the sessions.
