What is Domestic Abuse?
Domestic abuse is any incident of behaviour which is threatening, controlling, violent or abusive and includes; physical, sexual, psychological, financial or emotional abuse.
Forced Marriage, Honour Based Violence and Female Genital Mutilation are also forms of domestic abuse and are additional issues of concern for the BME community.
Domestic Abuse happens between adults who are or have been intimate partners, or family members (mother, father, sister, brother, grandchildren, children and grandparents) and includes in-laws and step families in same sex relationships.
