Can Da Vincis protect the egg? A wide variety of approaches to designing and creating parachutes this morning. Miss Bradley loves how differently everybody tackles the challenge.

Feeling inspired after learning all about Dr Maggie Aderin Pocock, Space Scientist.

January

Meet Bean! Or Mr Bean, to give our classroom plant it’s full title. We can’t wait to find out more about this special species.

Everybody, meet Pablo! Da Vincis’ #VeryImpressivePlant he is an Echeveria Perle Von Nurnburg, originating from Mexico!

And .....stretch! Some super stretches and balances by Einsteins, mirroring our partners moves and actions.

Teamwork, positivity and great coaching from children with lots of confidence. What a super start to our gymnastics for this half-term!

We then learnt about & advertised The Ford Model T “The car that put the world on wheels,” “The name says it all, it’s aFORDable for all!” Some of our very catchy slogans!

We then looked at The Bright Young Things & their final fling. We created newspaper reports from the event.
“The extravagant ball was the final straw!” “As Britain crumbled, the Bright Young Things partied!”

Da Vincis have been looking at different aspects of 1920’s life to celebrate school’s birthday. First, fashion!

We learnt about how astronauts eat and drink in space & made simulated urine to compare and diagnose dehydration!

Testing our reaction times and working our our average scores.

We have learnt what skills are needed to explore space & applied to undertake some challenges to test our abilities!

Some very strange happenings in school this morning… and a very unusual sky, wouldn’t you agree? Year 5, we need your help to investigate… some of these clues are out of this world.

Evidence of the alien investigation, photographed by Y5 detectives…
