Walk to School Project
What is it?
The Walk to School Project is a fun and engaging initiative for children that has been designed to provide the opportunity for pupils to experience first hand the importance of walking to school. Children will be well on their way to reaching their recommended 60 minutes minimum of physical activity per day before even reaching the school gates! Not only will it set them up for a positive day in the classroom, but it will also help create healthy habits for life.
Are you up for the challenge?
Each pupil will be challenged to travel sustainably and actively to school (walk, run, skip, cycle or even pogo stick!) and their journeys will be logged by school using a Travel Tracker. Each class will work collectively to make as many active journeys to school as possible across the week. If the children complete one ‘active’ journey to school each week for a month, they will get a badge!
How many badges can you collect?
Each month the badges will have a different theme and so each child can build up their collection if they take part every month. Our Anfield Eco Warriors will distribute the badges each month. So come on Anfield... are you ready? 🏃♀️ 🚲
