At Anfield Road we believe that communities play a crucial role in each and every aspect of our lives and that it has never been more important to come together and support each other. Being part of a wider community means that we are part of something far greater than ourselves. The community of Liverpool, and our home, Anfield, gives us the opportunity to grow, to connect with people, share a vision, aim high and develop our identity.
During a year that we had to stay apart, we have never felt as close
To say the past year has been difficult is an understatement, but watching how our community has come together during the Covid-19 pandemic has been incredible. The Anfield streets were decorated with rainbows and beautiful artwork, the echos of the claps for carers each week would give you goosebumps and small acts of kindness such as delivering letters of love and hope to our neighbours in the care home would lift the spirits of so many.
Each of us may have had a different experience during the pandemic. Some stayed at home, some were part of our successful Hub but we were all there for each other. We learn new phrases such as ‘social distancing’ and ‘support bubbles’ and we definitely experienced a ‘new normal’. The past year has confirmed to us the importance of community and supporting each other through hard times.
