CAHMS

What is CAMHS?

 

CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. CAMHS is the name for the NHS services that assess and treat young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties. 

 

CAMHS support covers depression, problems with food, self- hard, abuse, violence, anger and anxiety among other difficulties. The CAMHS team is made up of nurses, therapists, psychologists, child and adolescent psychiatrist (medical doctors who specialise in mental health), support workers and social workers, as well as other professionals. 

 

How can my child get help from CAMHS?

 

To get access to CAMHS your child will need to be referred for an assessment. This referral can come from parents/ carers, a teacher or your GP. This referral will go to Liverpool CAMHS Partnership.

The Liverpool CAMHS offer aims to promote the mental health, emotional health and wellbeing of all children, young people and their families/ carers.
