Welcome to Upper School

In Upper School the approach to learning continues to be very child centred and maintains the established principles of effective learning with exciting, engaging lessons. We are encouraged to explore, discuss, question, reflect and report in both individual and collaborative learning contexts across a range of subject areas. All of our different learning styles will be catered for and there is an individualised approach supported by high expectations, which will ensure that we are all working to our full potential in all aspects of our development.

The adults will give us lots more responsibility and we will act as role models for the rest of the school, helping the younger children with their learning. We will have the opportunity to become Reading Rangers, Multiplication Masters and the Fred Frog Squad to help with out with Phonics. We will be encouraged to be ourselves and to model resilience and resourcefulness at all times. When our time comes to leave Year 6 we will be secondary ready and as ambassadors of Anfield Road Primary School, we will reflect on our time here as a very positive experience. As part of our exciting curriculum, the adults strive to offer real life experiences, which will now a fundamental part of our curriculum and we will now have a school visit relative to our learning every half term.
